Discussion: Unit S1 Personnel Fail to update Promotion Packets
Every month we receive dozens of e-mails and Facebook messages about how S1
personnel did not update a Soldier’s promotion file and is now not showing on the
Enlisted Promotions By name list and the Soldier submitted all required documents
to update their promotion points well before the 8th of the month.

On a personal note, in 2006 my promotion from SPC to SGT was delayed for 3
months because my S1 lost my APFT score card and then the following month lost
my entire promotion file, luckily I kept copies of all documents submitted as well as a
signed DA Form 200 which helped me get a backdated promotion and back pay. I
am not trying to slam the S1 shops but this is clearly a ongoing problem based on
personal experience and recent feedback from other Soldiers. What are your units
doing to address this issue? What steps did you take if you or one of your Soldiers
